DON'T LET ACNE DECIDE YOUR WARDROBE

Do you let your hair down to cover your acne despite knowing that it makes it worse ? Do you hate wearing backless tops or plunging necklines because you want to hide your pimples?

Long time no chat #ChatwithLiz

The other day, I refused to wear a scoop top to work because I had tiny red bumps on my chest. I rummaged through my wardrobe but all I could find were tops that had plunging necklines. I stood there and almost cried 😢… Sounds stupid right? But honestly, the frustration of not being able to hide my body acne really got to me. I was really ashamed of my skin… scared of people thinking that I am “dirty"… 😣
But I looked back at this particular photo and I remember specifically how confident I was despite my body acne. I actually had chest and back pimples all over (It doesn’t show much in these pics [swipe] but it was more red and prominent in real life). I told myself “I’m going to have fun and not let acne ruin my day”. Guess what? I threw on that green crop top and strutted through that launch party with zero F**ks! Hahaha It was one of my best nights ever.

I hope you don’t let acne dictate what you wear today. ❤️ I used to be that someone who wore turtlenecks on really hot days. I used to be that someone who used to wear their long hair down to cover their back acne despite knowing that it’d make it worse. I used to be that someone who refused to wear their favourite dress because of the fear of what other people might think. It really sucks but once you let go of this insecurity, you will find freedom.

The real struggle comes down to your own confidence and perception of yourself, not what others think of you. Remember that <3
